As a founding member of HARP (Hospitality Alliance for Responsible Procurement), Entegra is committed to driving greater sustainability in the hospitality industry and supporting our clients to reach their sustainability and diversity goals.

Here are a few ways better sustainability reporting drives improved procurement decision making:

  1. Improve transparency on supplier sustainability performance

Supplier-level sustainability metrics are key data points for understanding performance and impact. Each assessed Entegra supplier is assigned an aggregate score that is made up of four key pillars:

         - Environmental
         - Labor and human rights
         - Ethics
         - Sustainable procurement

Each supplier’s information is viewable on their supplier scorecard, empowering hospitality businesses to make informed decisions based on supplier sustainability scores.

The supplier scorecard makes monitoring sustainability metrics easier for both suppliers and operators.

  2. Suggest areas of improvement for suppliers

Through the EcoVadis assessment, suppliers gain a better understanding of their sustainability performance and are better able to prioritize actions to improve their scores.

HARP members can also use the data to highlight strategic areas that suppliers need to work on as an industry, such as:

         - Carbon emissions reductions
         - Product use and end-life
         - Environmental practices

…and many more. Armed with clear, measurable data as a baseline, ascertaining the impact of policy changes is clearer for both suppliers and hospitality companies as they work towards achieving sustainability goals.

  3. Enhanced upward and financial reporting

For organizations that have tied funding or shareholder value to ESG improvements, leveraging sustainability data to demonstrate clear, measurable progress is an important aspect of both upward and financial reporting. With so many organizations paying lip service to sustainability, showing real progress is important to avoid accusations of greenwashing.
